Lifetime
Hockey School's
Frequently asked Questions
1.
Can I store my
equipment at the rink? How will it dry out?
Hockey
equipment may be stored at the rink. The locker rooms will be secured for
the night and between sessions. Each camp member will be able to use a
“hockey tree” during the course of the school. The hockey tree
can be hung in the locker room and it enhances air drying of equipment. A
fan will also be placed in each locker room to assist air circulation for
the drying of equipment and for the collective benefit of all locker room
users.
2.
Should I bring a
lunch? Is there breakfast? What about lunch?
Lifetime Hockey
offers a daily complimentary continental breakfast of freshly baked bagels
(fresh that morning from Brueggers), orange juice and coffee. The
concession stand is operated by Lifetime Hockey during the course of the
school. For lunch we will have reasonably priced sandwiches, including
grilled items (you can even get a veggie burger), snacks and drinks.
Lifetime Hockey will have water available at strategic locations in the
rinks in the orange “Gatorade” coolers. Water bottles are provided to
camp participants.
3.
When is the
schedule available and what can I expect?
Expect to have
a lot of fun. Tom Bast is truly a “blast” and so are his Canadian
coaches. Not only are these guys great hockey instructors, players and
persons; they are also a lot of fun. The schedule will be released
approximately 1 month before the school begins. We try to put players of
similar ability in the same groups and we try to put friends and teammates
together as well. If you have concerns or questions about your
assignment, just ask Tom, Mark or Dan and we will try to make a reasonable
accommodation for you.
We are likely
to have 3 sections again this year. This means that at any given time,
one group is on the ice, one group is in dry-land training, one group is
in classroom and the last group is on break relaxing.
4.
What is the
Coaches’ Reception all about?
The coaches
are very social and enjoy the company of camp participants outside of the
rink. Each year the coaches sponsor a reception. This year the
reception will be held at Parade Ice Garden. This informal gathering includes complimentary
appetizers, beer/wine and soft drinks and a lot of social time to get to
know the coaches, your group’s members and players assigned to other
groups. Please be prepared to sing O’Canada eh?
